The Challenge

Create designs for a new hair styling product line for sale at major retailers.

The brand’s pivotal move into new retail outlets presented an opportunity to look deeply at what they offer and how to communicate that with buyers through design. As a celebrity and fashion runway hairstylist, Orlando Pita’s brand had to rely on excellent design to pave the way into the retail market.

The Solution

Thoughtful package design that evokes a sense of luxury and successfully propels the brand into new markets.

With an eye to previous product lines as a starting point, Orlando Pita Play’s new design encapsulates the qualities of the product—weightlessness and volume. Minimal lines and colors are a nod to high-fashion fabrics, encouraging shoppers to tap into a world of quality and elegance.

The new package designs were key in securing a place at Ulta Beauty, setting the brand up for other partnerships with Macy’s, Walmart, FabFitFun, and QVC. Because of the strategy that went into these designs, the product was ready to sell to a wide range of audiences at multiple retailers.
